"Young Billy Young"

Bill Young is the owner of Chalk Box, Inc., a wholesale business for billiard products. He also owns and operates a retail outlet, Quincy Billiards in his hometown of Quincy, Illinois. For the past forty-five years Bill has been an active pool player in pool leagues and independent tournaments.

Bill began playing pool at the age of ten in the pool halls of Kirksville, Missouri. It was in one of the small pool rooms that Bill learned to recover pool tables at the age of fifteen and thus began his love of the game. Since leagues did not exist at that time he gained his playing experience by traveling to other pool halls in the area.

In the early 1980's, Bill and several friends established the first Miller Lite Pool League in Quincy, Illinois. He served as president of the league for two years and sold pool cues, tables, and accessories on the side. The Miller Lite League is still in operation today with over 700 players. In 1984 he moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma to work in the billiard retail business full time. While in Tulsa, Bill also played on a local pool team which won the city championship, played in many tournaments in the Tulsa area, and built his own eight foot pool table which still sits in his home today.

In 1992 Bill created his first billiard product, the Chalk Box, for international sales. Since then he has created the Retractable Chalker, the Silver Bullet Pocket Chalker, the Chalker-Scuffer, Billiard Key Chains, Custom Billiard Spots, as well as, a line of billiard sportswear. For the last seventeen years Bill has worked on locating and restoring antique pool tables for resale while running has wholesale & retail billiard business. He also collects billiard antiques and other billiard related items. Currently he is marketing his new product the EZ Jumper and playing in local tournaments throughout Illinois and Missouri.
